More than ever, the Boxmeer shopping Sunday on Ascension Day 2019 offers a global programme. On the initiative of the Boxmeer Development Cooperation Foundation, the municipal Fair Trade Workgroup and the Worldshop, shopkeepers, schools, BiblioPlus, cultural and social institutions and foundations organise the ‘Hello World’ theme day with projects in the Third World.
It is expected to be a festive day of connection and meeting. On different stages in the village young and old can enjoy inspiring stories, music, dance and play.

Admire the exhibitions of the students of the participating schools and artists. ‘Weave’ together with an artist on the ‘Carpet for Meeting’. Get a surprising story from the ‘Human Library’ of BiblioPlus. Design your own toys, jewelry or amulets. Draw your own floor plan together with an artist. Taste the world dishes made by newcomers and the pupils of the schools. Listen to passionate stories and exotic musical rhythms by different music groups. And enjoy the dance performances of the various Boxmeer dance schools. Find out how many people from our community are involved in development cooperation and Fairtrade.
